Being a first or even second year teacher is challenging work. There is curriculum to learn, procedures to create, and names to remember among a dozen other things. 

To offer a bit of encouragement to our early career teachers, the District, the Putnam City Association of Classroom Teachers and the Foundation created the Super Star Teacher award.

These individuals are chosen by their school principal according to who has gone above and beyond expectations in their first year or two. Winners are celebrated at a reception where they receive a few gifts to honor their accomplishments, and get to reminisce about the year just finished.
