Dr. Carlan Yates
Dr. Carlan Yates is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and native of Oklahoma, graduating from Putnam City High School in 1973. He completed his B.A. at Harvard University and then attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Yates completed an internship at the University of Oklahoma Department of General Surgery and his residency at the University of Oklahoma Teaching Hospitals, Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Yates went on to complete fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Orthopedic Research of Virginia. Dr. Yates has practiced orthopedic surgery and sports medicine in Oklahoma City since 1987. He was honored to serve in the United States Olympic Committee Physician Program 1989 through 1996. His clinical practice merged with the McBride Clinic in 2001.
Carlan Yates has offered his services to many local high school and professional sports teams including Putnam City North High School, Edmond Public Schools, Lazy E Rodeo, OKC Blazers, OKC Redhawks and 89ers, OKC Spirit soccer, Twisters football, Coyotes roller hockey, Virginia Slims and Davis Cup tennis, Oklahoma Storm, Senior PGA golf, OKC Cavalry, and New Orleans/OKC Hornets.
Carlan Yates has two brothers, Alan and Gaylan and one sister, Joy. His father, Carlyle, taught at Hefner Junior High and his mother, Lois, taught at Central Intermediate. Carlan and his wife Debi have four children: Seth, Shea, Kaleb, and Carley.
Carlan’s contributions to his profession and his community have been many. Supported by his family, Carlan has excelled and is a shining point of pride in the Putnam City Family.
